Centre for Children – Frourarcheio

Description

The Center for the Child is an open space for all children whose purpose is to promote and support children’s rights. It is located at the Athens Solidarity Center and consists of a team of a psychologist, a project manager and an educator who directly collaborate. The space is open for all children aged from 0 to 12, with no discrimination concerning gender, origin, ethnicity, or religion (children younger than 3 years old must be accompanied by a guardian during their visit). The Center operates daily from 10:00-18:00 and the entry is free. The professional team organizes and carries out educational and recreational activities which include Greek language lessons, as well as individualized support of the children in their school subjects. Moreover, the Center organizes cultural activities and external visits in the view of a more holistic development of the child. Furthermore, the Center’s psychologist provides counselling to parents, aiming to strengthen their parental role and improve the relationship with their children, as well as to children, in order to help them better manage their feelings and strengthen their self-image. The Center of the Child is funded and supported by the NGO “Solidarity Now”.
