Description
With the drastic rise in asylum applicants, the provision of equal educational chances remains a challenge in the educational contexts of EU Member States with young people with a migrant background being found at a particular disadvantage. The project’s objectives are to facilitate the exchange of experience and good practices in refugee education among different groups of stakeholders and among different countries, and to generate mutual learning effects in refugee education. Also, it aims to increase the stakeholders’s ability to apply functioning methods and strategies to support the education of refugee and asylum seeking youth across European countries and promote multi-stakeholder and transnational cooperation in this sector. It was implemented from 01-12-2016 until 30-11-2018 in Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, UK, Germany and Sweden. The Coordinator of the project was Stiftelsen Fryshuset (based in Sweden) and the consortium consisted of Europaisches Forum Fuer Migrationsstudien EV, University of Western Macedonia, Verikom - Verbund für interkulturelle Kommunikation und Bildung e.V., Risbo B.V., Universiteit Antwerpen, Multi Kulti Collective, Leeds Beckett University and Migration Policy Group. It was a two-year Erasmus+ project granted by the Hellenic National Agency via the European Commission.

Reproducibility
The project aims to disseminate its results and being replicated not only in the participating countries, but also in other EU countries. Partners have produced practical and reusable resources for the practitioners, in particular the “Handbook of Good Practices and Effective Policies on Refugee Education”.
Motivation for the submission
The project is relevant to the IMMERSE project because its goal is to enhance the education of refugee and asylum-seeking youth in Europe and its main long-term intended benefit is the provision of equal and equitable education for refugee and asylum-seeking youth in the participating countries and other EU countries.
