Erasmus + Project - HOPEFUL-Extending Teachers Competences in the effective teaching of literacy, numeracy and digital skills to refugee children -Webinar June 2021, launching of online material for teachers, toolkit / e-learning

Description

HOPEFUL is a European initiative with the main purpose of enhancing teachers’ competences in the teaching of numeracy, literacy and digital skills to refugee and migrant students so as to promote their successful integration in education and improve their school performance. Additionally, throughout HOPEFUL an innovative diagnostic tool will be developed in order to effectively assess the gaps and needs of migrant as well as refugee’s children in aforementioned sectors. Primary goal of HOPEFUL is to encourage students to continue their education despite the difficulties they face when integrating into the national educational system. Furthermore, HOPEFUL aims to promote innovative practices in teaching literacy, numeracy and digital competences to refugee and migrant children with interrupted education. Moreover, HOPEFUL will succeed its goals through four pillars: the identification of the necessary skills of secondary school teachers in order to cater for the needs of migrant and refugee children. Secondly, a capacity building program will be designed for teachers and school teachers. The third and fourth pillar are not only to develop a diagnostic tool for evaluating the gaps and needs of secondary school migrant and refugee children but also an online platform where teachers can hone their skills through digital modules.
