Description
The Tomillo Foundation is a non-profit independent entity whose purpose is to contribute to social improvement and personal development. Through the program "Integral Attention to Children", for both national and immigrant population at risk of social exclusion or in extremely vulnerable situation, it aims to assist minors and young people to achieve their social integration and autonomy, promoting the development of their personal, cognitive and socialization skills in the family, school and social contexts. They work from an integrative perspective and in coordination with the educational, social and sanitary devices of the environment. Through five axes (school reinforcement, psychological support, intervention with families, educational leisure, advocating employability), the project pretends to achieve the socio-educational inclusion of minors in order to subsequently increase their employment opportunities. In order to prevent scholar school dropout of children, the foundation proposes extra-curricular activities and supports the children and their families in their relationship. The Project is developed mainly within the city of Madrid, in the following localities: La Latina, Carabanchel, Vallecas, Villaverde, Usera, San Blas and in Majadahonda, and receives EU funds and governmental funds. It is also funded by foundations and private companies.

Evaluation ex post
The project has supported 125 vulnerable families by developing parental competencies in order to promote their child’s development.
The project has helped 800 minors and 472 families, bringing together tutoring, mental health, leisure and recreation and family activities.
1.735 children and adolescents received school support. 68% of them had improved their academic competencies and 78% of them their socioemotional competencies.

Motivation for the submission
The foundation’s program is socially relevant, as it promotes the improvement of the academic performance of children and adolescents so that they are assured of better opportunities in their future. It also promotes the care of their mental health, their family relationships and their integration into society: all necessary components for their integral development and which are in line with the baselines of this project.
