CEPS: Migration integration policies at the local level in Belgium

Description

This policy paper focuses on labour market integration of new arrivals into Belgium. Migrant children’s lower educational attainment levels are taken as symptomatic of a serious integration problem. Individual local actors and networks (initiatives, organisations, and other stakeholders) are identified, contextualising child migrants’ civic and economic integration within broader migration issues. This paper emphasises the need for greater communication and coordination, as well as more targeted policies from Belgian governance structures.
