Description

The Network of centres carries and supports discrimination-critical participation projects in schools, educational environments and in the community in Berlin. Since 1991, it aims at the support of all stakeholders in the educational process with specific services. These include for example bilingual language-development programmes, free tutoring, school clubs, school mediation, professional training for educators, actions on parental participation with specific emphasis on families with migration backgrounds, diversity-oriented organisational development strategies, and Roma school mediation service. Funding and Strategic Partnership involve RAA Federal Working Group, Freudenberg Foundation, Amadeu Antonio Foundation – Initiatives for Civil Society and Democratic Culture, Hildegard Lagrenne Foundation for Education, Inclusion, and Participation of Sinti and Roma in Germany, Senate Department for Education, Youth, and Science, Senate Department for Labour, Integration, and Women, and State Office for Equal Rights - Against Discrimination, Berlin.

    Competence centers and competence networks are to further develop the thematic expertise in individual subject areas and to make it available nationwide – i.e.: - Transfer of successful work approaches to federal, state, and municipal structures. - Transfer-oriented, structure-related support services for the (further) development of professional standards development of subject-related standards and their implementation.

    They have many years of experience and expertise and are integrated in a nationwide network; meeting many of our indicator outcomes on par.
